Privacy Policy
Last Updated: May 31, 2026
1. Local-First & Privacy Commitment
Syncara is designed as a high-fidelity, local-first digital workstation. Unlike traditional web services, we respect the confidentiality of your media. We do not require account registration, and we do not collect, process, or store your private audio, video, or subtitle files on any remote servers. All computation happens directly inside your browser cache.
2. Information Processing & Data Ingestion
When you load an audio file (MP3, WAV) or import subtitle tracks (SRT, VTT, LRC) into the Syncara workspace:
- The assets are loaded directly into your browser's local memory (RAM) via standard Web APIs.
- Waveform peaks are computed off-main-thread using Web Workers locally.
- Zero bytes of audio or video data are transmitted across the network.
3. Browser Storage & Cookies
Syncara utilizes modern browser storage options to improve your offline and editing workflow:
- IndexedDB: Used to temporarily cache project timelines, segments, and audio peaks so you don't lose editing progress if the page refreshes.
- LocalStorage: Stores persistent preferences such as dark mode toggles, timeline volume settings, and UI speed options.
- Cookies: We only set a functional cookie (
syncara_pref_lang) to remember your chosen language preference. No tracking or marketing cookies are utilized.
4. Third-Party Analytics & SDKs
Our static hosting infrastructure may log standard web traffic telemetry (such as IP address, user-agent, and request timestamps) to prevent DDoS attacks and ensure server reliability. These server logs contain no personal identifiable information (PII) and are never correlated with your media projects.
5. Intellectual Property Security
Because media timing files represent pre-release content and confidential intellectual property, using a cloud-based editor presents security vulnerabilities. Syncara provides absolute isolation, making it safe for post-production teams to align broadcast subtitles without signing NDAs with third-party web platforms.
6. Contact Information
If you have questions regarding this Privacy Policy or our local-first implementation, please contact us via our official social communication channels or by opening a technical ticket on our public repository.
