WebVTT (Web Video Text Tracks) was developed to standardise captioning on HTML5 browsers. Unlike SRT, VTT files start with a mandatory "WEBVTT" header line, support stylesheets (fonts, colors, alignment), and accept positioning annotations (line, position, size).
